Vice President Joe Biden is joining the ranks of many celebrities by appearing on the long-running crime drama, “Law and Order: SVU.” The White House issued issued a press release Thursday night that said he vice president planned to travel with wife Dr. Jill Biden to New York on Friday in order to film the appearance.
The vice president taped his appearance in New York Friday. He’s seeking to advance his message on winnowing down the backlog of untested rape kits, and more broadly his efforts to end violence against women, the White House said. Biden’s record was mention during hie biographical video at the Democratic National Convention Wednesday. Mariska Hargitay, the star of “Law and Order: SVU,” narrated the video. Hargitay and Biden have partnered previously on similar issues affecting women.
Mariska Hargitay honored Vice Biden with the Finnegan Award at the Joyful Heart Foundation’s annual star-studded Joyful Revolution Gala May 10, in New York City.
