Tony Award nominee Christopher Jackson, formerly of Hamilton, will once again hit the New York stage April 21 when he performs at the You’ve Got a Friend: A Celebration of Singers and Songwriters concert with the New York Pops at Carnegie Hall. Jackson will share the spotlight with Tony winner Jessie Mueller, who completes her final performance in the Broadway musical Waitress on March 26.
Jackson and Mueller will appear with Will Chase (The Mystery of Edwin Drood) and Adrienne Warren (Shuffle Along) in the concert salute that celebrates songwriters including James Taylor and Carole King.
Christopher Jackson earned a Tony nomination for his role as George Washington in Hamilton. Mueller won the 2014 Tony for Best Actress in a Musical for her performance in the title role of Beautiful: The Carole King Musical. She also earned a Tony nomination last year in the same category for Waitress and had previously received a nod for On a Clear Day You Can See Forever.
Steven Reineke will serve as music director and conductor of the 8 PM concert at Carnegie Hall’s Stern Auditorium/Perelman Stage.
