Still trying to get tickets to the The National Museum of African American History and Culture? The Smithsonian has just announced that they will extend public hours during its grand-opening weekend.
The museum will be open to the public for additional hours over the weekend, Saturday, Sept. 24, 1 p.m.–8 p.m., and Sunday, Sept. 25, 7 a.m.–midnight. The museum dedication will take place Saturday, Sept. 24, on the National Mall.
On Tuesday, Sept. 6, at 9 a.m. EST, additional timed passes for entry Sept. 24 through the end of December will be available online or by calling ETIX Customer Support Center at (800) 514-3849 or (919) 653-0443.
Museum hours will also be extended 10 a.m.–7:30 p.m., Monday, Sept. 26–Friday, Sept. 30. On Saturday, Oct. 1, the museum will be open 10 a.m.–midnight and Sunday, Oct. 2, 10 a.m.–10 p.m.
Timed passes are required for entrance into the museum and will continue indefinitely. There will be no limit on the amount of time visitors spend inside the museum.
